About Soundside Electrical
An owner-operated electrical contractor built on process, accountability, and the kind of work that holds up to scrutiny.

How We Got Here
Soundside Electrical started from a frustration most homeowners know too well: contractors who cut corners, miss timelines, and leave you guessing about what was actually done. We set out to run a company where the work itself is the marketing.
Based in Leland and serving the greater Wilmington area, we earn repeat business the old-fashioned way — by showing up when we say we will, delivering exactly what we quoted, and leaving the jobsite cleaner than we found it.
Our client base spans first-time homeowners upgrading outdated panels to property managers coordinating multi-unit buildouts. The scope varies; the discipline doesn't.
How We Work
We start every engagement with a site visit — walking the space, understanding the load requirements, and identifying anything that could affect the timeline or budget before putting a number on paper.
During the work, we protect floors and finished surfaces, contain dust and debris, and route wiring so it can be traced and serviced without tearing open walls down the road.
At closeout, we walk you through what was installed, hand over any permit documentation, and make sure you know how to operate new equipment. The job isn't done until you're confident in what's behind the walls.

Meet the Owner
Ryan Bernatz founded Soundside Electrical after years of seeing how disorganized project management leads to callbacks, code violations, and frustrated homeowners. He holds NC Electrical Contractor License #36691.
As the qualifying electrician, Ryan is on-site for every project — making real-time decisions, catching issues before they compound, and ensuring the finished product reflects the standard he'd want in his own home.
What Drives Us
Craftsmanship Over Speed
We don't measure productivity by how fast we close out jobs. Every termination is torqued to manufacturer spec, every panel is photographed before cover plates go on, and wire runs are planned for serviceability — not just the shortest path.
Earned Trust, Not Sales Tactics
We don't upsell services you don't need or manufacture urgency to close a deal. If your existing system is fine, we'll tell you. That honesty is why most of our projects come from repeat clients and direct referrals.
Continuity, Not Crews
You won't get a different crew every visit or a call center when you have a question. The person who scoped your project is the same person who wires it, tests it, and answers the phone six months later if something comes up.
Built for the Coast
Coastal North Carolina has unique demands — salt air corrosion, hurricane preparedness, flood zone considerations. We understand the environment we work in and spec materials and methods accordingly.
